Dear Parents & Families,
We're thrilled to introduce a new feature in our district app called Rooms! This platform is designed for seamless communication between staff and families, making it easier than ever to stay informed about school updates and activities.
As we roll out this new tool, we're starting with a small group of teachers, all spring sports coaches, and our Middle School and High School Principals.
While not all staff members will immediately transition to using Rooms as their primary communication tool, we're moving in that direction and aim to have full implementation by the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year.
Stay tuned for more information and resources as we continue the rollout. Effective communication is essential to our school community's success, and we're excited to embark on this journey with you through Rooms!

This week, to celebrate National FFA Week, each agriculture student at Rockingham Academy contributed to crafting personalized charcuterie boards for the entire faculty and staff. These boards were uniquely customized with a distinctive Rockingham Academy brand. Thank you, students, for your hard work! They look amazing!

On Valentine's Day, the wonderful teachers at Rockingham Academy didn't just arrive early – they practically beat the sun to school! They were on a mission to whip up a breakfast that would make Cupid himself jealous! Scrambled eggs, heart-shaped pancakes, and red velvet pancakes were on the menu that morning. Served up for our amazing students!

The aroma of sizzling grilled cheese and simmering soup fills the air as a group of students work together in the FCS classroom preparing lunch to share with the whole school.

There's a new "assistant" SRO with Deputy Custer! Josie enjoys long walks, treats, and sending emails.

Celebrating the End of the Second Grading Term at RA!
The second grading term has officially come to a close and what a term it was! Our students completed 31 class credits and we are thrilled to announce that two students have received their high school diplomas and two have achieved their GEDs. We are incredibly proud of all our students for their outstanding achievements this grading term. Congratulations!

Ms. Trumbo's class of middle schoolers recently got their hands dirty planting vibrant tulips. These budding gardeners discovered that tulips symbolize not only perfect and deep love, but also represent the magic of rebirth. As a sweet gesture, the students gifted some of their beautiful blooms to their teachers before each taking one home with them. What a great way to spread some love and appreciation!

We hope you all had a fun and safe break!
We are ready to welcome students back to school, tomorrow, Wednesday, January 3rd!

We want to give a big "THANK YOU" to Cargill in Dayton for donating 8 turkeys and Dr. Victor Saunders for his donation that helped make the meal possible.
Faculty and staff prepared side dishes and Ms. Evans' art advisory students made the centerpieces.
Trayvon made two cutting boards which were given as door prizes and the lucky winners, were Ms. Donna Abernathy and Mr. Matt Cross.
We hope that everyone has a safe and joyful Thanksgiving break.

Mr. Disharoon and Mr. Rice's advisory students landed a sweet gig reading to the little ones at Pleasant Valley Elementary. Those high schoolers were over the moon as they flipped through pages and brought stories to life for Ms. Beach's 1st-grade class!
