In observance of 9/11 and Patriot Day, Family and Consumer Science (FCS) students at Rockingham Academy spent time reflecting on the bravery of first responders while putting their culinary and crafting skills to work for the community.
The students mixed up batches of patriotic snack cups filled with popcorn, pretzels, and candies, then carefully packaged each treat with red and blue ribbons alongside custom "9/11 – We Will Never Forget" commemorative tags.
Once packaged, students delivered the handmade treats directly to local heroes. They shared snack cups with School Resource Officer Deputy Neumann right here on campus, and delivered packages to express their gratitude to the dedicated firefighters at Station 2.
It was a meaningful project that allowed Rockingham Academy students to honor those lost, practice community service, and say a heartfelt "thank you" to the first responders who keep our community safe every day.
