Mrs. Jennifer Trumbo was honored with the Bridgewater College Educational Leadership Award on October 10, 2024, at Rockingham Academy, surrounded by family, friends, and colleagues.
This award honors a public preK-12 teacher or administrator who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to educating an underserved population of preK-12 learners. Among the many teachers and administrators across the Shenandoah Valley who were nominated, Mrs. Trumbo best fit the criteria of reflecting a strong, clear, and abiding commitment to excellence in teaching, servant leadership, and a bold and daring commitment to educating diverse students.
During her acceptance speech, Mrs. Trumbo thanked everyone who helped her with this achievement-students, colleagues, and her family. She emphasized the importance of love and understanding for each person’s humanity and encouraged all of us to practice empathy and compassion with everyone we meet.
We are so proud of Mrs. Trumbo and are so lucky to have her as a part of our team and family here at Rockingham Academy.
