Every month, Ms. Dean will recognize two members of our incredible staff as Phoenix of the Month. Staff members will receive a goody bag and some other fun treats.
In August, Ms. Dean recognized Joey Capuano and Tammy Crissel.
This is Joey Capuano's first year with us at Rockingham Academy as our English Learning teacher. He is entering his 6th year teaching, having taught Spanish and EL in RCPS Middle and High Schools. Tammy Crissel is starting her second year with us here at RA as a middle school teacher. She has been teaching for 22 years (17 years in New York before moving back to Virginia in 2019). She taught adult English as a Second language classes at Massanutten Technical Center for 4 years before starting at RA. Her piece of advice for students is: Mistakes are meant to be made. It's what you do differently the next time that matters.
