Week #39- June 2, 2025
This is it! The final week of the 2024-2025 school year has arrived. In many ways it seems like a very quick year. In some ways, August of 2024 feels like it was a very long time ago. Such is the experience of so many school years, some mixture of time dragging along and passing in a flash all at the same time.
MES concluded this past week with a Field Day that was incredible! The weather for much of the day was wonderful and students were able to have a great experience. As I worked through rooms Friday afternoon, students were still buzzing and, with great enthusiasm, said they had a great day. This awesome day was supported by nearly fifty volunteers, MES family and community members coming together to ensure that students had a great day. Thank you to all of the volunteers! I watched you not only assist with stations, but participate with students, interact with them in meaningful ways and support them as they engage with the activities. It was impressive to watch these interactions and also to see people stay to make sure everything was cleaned up and returned to the gym area. Thank you Coach Roach, and the staff members who directly assisted, for planning the event and setting everything up.
The final three days will pass quickly and students and staff will be enjoying a well-deserved summer break in no time. Please note that Wednesday, June 4, the final day for students, is an early release day. MES will dismiss at 1 PM.

Other Announcements/Reminders from the MES Office:
A parent report for each completed SOL test will be printed and sent home with report cards this week. SOL scores will also be available in your PowerSchool Parent Portal no later than June 11, 2025.
MES Summer school is scheduled for July 8-25. Forms are needed in order to begin planning transportation and instructional materials.
