Dear JCMES Families,
This week, we are thrilled to be celebrating Staff Appreciation Week, and it has been a wonderful time of honoring the dedicated individuals who make our school such a special place. Each day, our staff members go above and beyond to support, guide, and inspire our students, and we are taking this week to show just how much we value all that they do.
We have been having a blast with a fun decades theme. We kicked things off by stepping back into the 1950s and enjoying a delicious lunch from Southern Kitchen. On Tuesday, we grooved into the 1960s with a classic ice cream shoppe and refreshing soda floats. Today, we are celebrating the 1970s with some groovy school accessories to brighten our staff members' day.
The celebration continues with the 1980s and 1990s later this week. On Thursday, staff will enjoy a variety of sweet treats, and on Friday, we will wrap up the week with a nostalgic lunch from Pizza Hut.
As we look ahead to tomorrow, we want to remind all families of our third to fifth grade students that they will be taking their reading SOL test. We know our students are ready to show all they have learned, and to help them be at their best, we ask that they arrive to school on time, enjoy a nutritious breakfast, and get a good night’s sleep tonight. Additionally, as students will be testing in both the morning and afternoon, we kindly ask that you refrain from picking up your child early tomorrow so that they can remain focused and complete their tests without interruption.
